NZS3604 Ring Foundation
Traditionally used across New Zealand since the 60s these foundations are embedded into the ground by excavating trench around perimeter of the dwelling, placement reinforcement within trench and pouring concrete. The depth of the foundations extend to “good ground” type conditions typically between 300-400 below existing ground level and extend above ground level to meet the consented finished floor level. The slab over, typically approx. 100 depth is essentially supported grade below, directly bearing on the soils with a think layer of hardfill.
They can be poured in two parts or single pour, however we prefer single pour so that the speed of construction is quicker however we work with our clients to meet their expectations.
Estimated Time for Construction: 2-4 Days Excavation & Backfill, 3- 5 days prep ready for concrete – can hand over completed to builder for frames in as quick as 7- 10 working days, depending on size and complexity.
